‘Compassion for Orphans’ is a Christian non-profit organisation established in 2003 to intermediate the adoption of legally adoptable overseas children into loving New Zealand families, recognising that the child, for the full harmonious development of his or her personality, should grow up in a family environment in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding.

We will only intermediate intercountry adoptions with countries that have ratified or acceded to the 1993 Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption.  The main reason for this being that the Hague Convention has safeguards to ensure that intercountry adoptions are conducted in the best interests of the child.

‘Compassion for Orphans’ is a New Zealand Accredited Body under the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption (1993).
